Casting this spell consumes the corpse of a creature and creates a shadowy duplicate of it. The creature returns as a shadow beast. The shadow beast has dim memories of its former life and retains free will; casters are advised to be ready to make an attractive offer to the newly-risen shadow beast, to gain its cooperation.
